Description
UBS Tokenize is UBS Group’s dedicated platform for tokenization services, developing the bank offerings in digital assets and distributed ledger technology.
UBS Tokenize facilitates the origination, distribution, and custody of a range of tokenized assets, including bonds, funds, and structured products, with a focus on creating institutional-grade infrastructure for digital assets.
Supporting the Project Guardian initiative led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), UBS collaborates with other financial institutions to explore use cases for tokenized assets within regulated frameworks.
Since 2015, UBS has explored various digital asset opportunities, and by 2022, it issued a USD 50 million tokenized fixed-rate note specifically for Asia Pacific clients. In June 2023, UBS Tokenize facilitated the issuance of CNH 200 million in fully digital structured notes for a third-party issuer, followed by the world’s first cross-border repurchase transaction with a digital bond on a public blockchain in November 2023.
In February 2024, UBS launched Hong Kong’s first investment-grade tokenized warrant on Ethereum. Most recently, UBS Tokenize announced the launch of its first Money Market Fund available to accredited investors and distributors: uMINT (UBS USD Money Market Investment Fund Token).
