Description

Tether Gold (XAUt) tokens represent 1 troy fine ounce of London Good Delivery gold held in a vault in Switzerland, and will be capable of being fractionalized up to six decimal places (i.e. increments as small as 0.000001 troy fine ounce).

Tether Gold are ERC-20 tokens available on the Ethereum blockchain.

Tether issues Tether Gold tokens by securing physical gold bars in vault in Switzerland, under the scrutiny of a custodian. Tokens are minted in Tether's Treasury and made available for trading to investors.

Purchase and Redemptions

Verified customers of Tether may purchase Tether Gold directly from the Tether Platform. Verified platform customers who own Tether Gold may redeem such tokens for the physical delivery of the underlying fine troy ounces of gold from the Gold Reserves.

Redemptions can only occur with full bars of gold, and gold bars are not exactly 430 fine troy ounces.
